A new name, a new identity, and seven milestones that defined our first half, from rebrand to AI partnership. Plus: what's coming in H2.

We didn't just rename the company. We reset its direction, rebuilt its presence, and expanded what it is capable of delivering.

How We Started: A New Name, A New Identity

The year opened with a significant change. Hut 8 HPC became Hut 8 Canada; a name that better reflects the scope of what we do and the ambition of our parent company, Hut 8 Corp. (NASDAQ | TSX: HUT). This was not a cosmetic exercise. The rebrand represented a deliberate expansion of our identity; from a high-performance compute specialist to a full-service Canadian data centre, managed infrastructure, and AI solutions provider.

The name change was accompanied by a new visual identity and a rebuilt digital home. canada.hut8.com was designed from the ground up to reflect the full breadth of what Hut 8 Canada offers today, and what it is becoming. The old site no longer told the right story. The new one does.

  1. The Hut 8 Infrastructure Stack

We published a clear articulation of the layered capabilities we build and manage; from physical colocation through to cloud, managed backup and disaster recovery. For any organization evaluating enterprise infrastructure, this is the place to start.

  2. Team growth in key areas

We strengthened the team where it matters most. Khawaja Ali joined as Network Architect Team Lead, bringing deep expertise in enterprise network architecture. David Aluko joined as Director, Cloud Operations, leading the operational excellence of our cloud infrastructure services. Both appointments reflect our commitment to depth, not just breadth.

  3. The State of the Industry newsletter

We launched our own editorial voice for Canadian IT and infrastructure leaders ; independent, opinionated, and built for practitioners. The State of the Industry delivers informed perspective on the trends and decisions shaping the industry.

  4. Facility upgrades underway

A programme of infrastructure upgrades is in progress across our facility footprint. We will have more to share on the specifics in H2, but the direction is clear; our infrastructure is being built for what enterprise AI and high-density compute workloads will demand over the next five years.

  5. PTC'26 Honolulu and DCN Toronto

We were on the ground at two of the most important infrastructure events of the half, PTC'26 in Honolulu and Data Centre North in Toronto. Both gave us the opportunity to deepen relationships with partners and clients and to represent Canadian infrastructure capability on a global stage.

  6. Strategic partnership with Cylix Applied Intelligence

The most significant announcement of the half. Hut 8 Canada and Cylix Applied Intelligence have partnered to deliver Canada's first end-to-end AI infrastructure offering — from certified, PIPEDA-compliant colocation through to agentic AI running in production. This partnership positions Hut 8 Canada as Canada's end-to-end managed AI solutions provider.

  7. AI-powered operations — we practice what we advise

In H1, Hut 8 Canada integrated AI-powered tools across our own marketing and sales operations; including marketing automation, account-based marketing sequences, and AI-assisted tools deployed by our sales and operations teams for proposals, POCs, and client communications. We are building the internal capability to match the external offering.

H1 was about building the foundation. H2 is about putting it to work.

What to Expect in H2

The second half of 2026 builds directly on everything the first half established. Three things we can confirm now:

  1. H2 2026 — Coming Up

    1. Our managed cloud platform built on open-source KVM and designed as the smarter, more cost-effective alternative to VMware for Canadian enterprises.

    2. Extending the ecosystem of capabilities available to our clients across infrastructure, AI, and cloud.

    3. With more detail to be announced as the programme progresses.

To every client, partner, and colleague who has been part of this first half, thank you. The best of Hut 8 Canada is still ahead.
