What network carriers do you offer?
A

Hut 8 HPC data centers are carrier-neutral and built for high-availability connectivity. We support multiple Tier-1 carriers with diverse entry paths, so you can bring your preferred provider, build redundant circuits, and design the latency and bandwidth profile your workloads require. Our team will confirm carrier options by facility during solutioning to ensure the right mix for your deployment.

What controls do you have in place? SOC 2? ISO?
A

Hut 8 HPC’s data center portfolio is SOC 2 Type II compliant. This means independent audits validate controls across security, availability, and confidentiality over time. We also operate Tier III-grade facilities with redundant power/cooling and structured operational governance. While we follow industry best-practice frameworks customers often map to ISO requirements, SOC 2 Type II is our published certification today.

Is Hut 8 a Bitcoin miner?
A

We started in digital-asset computing in 2017 and became one of the largest publicly listed Bitcoin miners in North America. That heritage gave us unmatched expertise in building and operating some of the most reliable, energy-efficient, high-density data centres on the continent. In 2024–2025 we pivoted the company to focus exclusively on High Performance Computing (HPC) and data center services under Hut 8 Canada. Mining is now a legacy activity that has been fully separated from our HPC division.

What happens to the cloud services Hut 8 Canada previously offered?
A

In September 2026, Hut 8 Canada sold its managed cloud, backup and disaster recovery business to Opti9 Technologies. Opti9 now delivers those services from Hut 8 Canada data centres under a multi-year colocation agreement, so the infrastructure stays in our buildings. Hut 8 Canada is now entirely focused on data centre colocation, connectivity and managed AI. Existing clients should expect direct communication from Opti9 about account continuity.

What happens to managed cloud, backup and disaster recovery services?
A

Those services are now delivered by Opti9 Technologies, which acquired Hut 8 Canada's managed cloud business in September 2026. Opti9 operates from Hut 8 Canada data centres under a multi-year colocation agreement. Existing clients should expect direct communication from Opti9. Hut 8 Canada is now focused entirely on colocation, connectivity and managed AI.
